Stop API: No to Fossil Fuel Criminals in Chicago

The American Petroleum Institute (API) will be in Chicago this Thursday, Nov. 16th. The API has lobbied for decades to prevent government action on climate change. Come join up with individuals and groups opposing the API for protecting Exxon Mobil, BP, Shell, Chevron and other oil companies, perpetuating the climate crisis, and causing climate destabilization which has impacted our local and global community. 4pm- meet up at Cermak and Prairie. 4:30 pm- march to Hyatt Regency McCormick Place, 2233 S Martin Luther King Dr. Speakers from both labor and local environmental groups will address the urgent need to leap from fossil fuels to energy conservation, public transportation, ecosystem restoration and good green energy jobs, while at the same time holding API and the oil companies they protect accountable for the local impacts we are experiencing, including wildfire smoke, flooding and extreme heat. This API conference is for engineers and safety workers. Together we will be highlighting the need to mobilize people with these skills to join with others to help us survive the climate crisis.
