Soup Night in the Day Light

Join for an afternoon of sharing food, ideas and organizing questions! Folks will share about the Stop Cop City/Defend the Atlanta Forest week of action and about solidarity work with folks in Turkey and Kurdistan. We are convening soup night (round 3!) to build spaces to consistently come together and cross pollinate ideas, build stronger networks across crews, groups and campaigns, and slow down and tend to the very center of our work: our relationships with one another. Soup aims to be a monthly practice with a couple guarantees: two soups, fire in the cold times, and loose structure to connect around shared values, the justice & movement work we do, and what is going on in our communities right now. We ask that folks try to arrive towards the beginning, as this will allow for a smooth flow of the afternoon which will be lightly facilitated. We invite you to bring whatever excites you to soup! Your questions! Your zines! Your announcements, your crew, your family. We hope over time soup can evolve and change shape as we build this practice in collaborative ways. We will have fire to keep warm and soup, bread, and drinks to go around. Opt in to whatever part you want or feel drawn to! Please bring materials and zines to share and your own soup bowl if you can! We will have some to share. Location and accessibility: Meet at a fire pit on the south side of Promontory Point. To get to the spot, there are paved sidewalks and the fire and meeting spot will be on grass next to the paved sidewalk. There are no bathrooms open in the park. This is an outdoor event.
