CHICAGO! 🌇 Join us for a two-day Intensive Direct Action Skills Training, May 13-14 from 9:30-6PM – priority application deadline end of day 4/26, rolling acceptance after! 💥‼️📢 This training came out of a monthly Soup Night discussion between a group of people across Chicago from various movement backgrounds who are hoping to build direct action skills in our organizing communities citywide.​ 🥣 ➡️ Participants will be sorted into 3 separate tracks based on interest – climbing for protest 🧗, blockades 🤝, and arts/creative resistance 🎨 ➡️ We will be providing food throughout the day, and are working on securing childcare & setting up ride sharing for folks who need. Please indicate any access needs on the application form! Location is TBA, but it will be outdoors in a public park, and masks are required. ➡️ We also have 20 stipends of $150 specifically for BIPOC young people (18-30) that folks can opt in for! ​​ This training is being financially supported by Rainforest Action Network (RAN), who are working on a campaign in Chicago and have funds they can use for movement building type work. Participants do not have to be connected to RAN, nor are there any campaign/action obligations attached to attending this training.
