A year after Dobbs overturned Roe vs. Wade and removed federal protections for abortion, the state of abortion access looks increasingly dire. Several states have moved to pass increasingly draconian abortion restrictions, with dire consequences for women, transgender men, and non-binary people. The war on abortion access is embedded within a greater hypercapitalist right-wing project of white supremacy, homophobia, transphobia, and misogyny. Policing and surveillance are the favored tools of the Right as they arrest and incarcerate abortion patients, providers, and activists. Using an expansive, reproductive justice lens, it is clear that these attacks are linked to a larger project of repressing our bodily autonomy, and our ability to build healthy, thriving, affirming communities. What is to be done? Join us on September 1, 2023 from 9:00 AM-3:00 PM to discuss the on-the-ground state of abortion access in America, connect with other organizers, and build a movement for true reproductive justice for all. Lunch will be provided, masks required when not eating or drinking. Speaker list and room number to be announced to all registrants. Prepare to strategize, build relationships, and do some visioning as a part of this summit! Registration is mandatory to attend this event.
